Re: [resolved]Any Good Fonts
Most came with your OS. But Helvetica is a luxury font exclusive to OSX, if you use Windows and yet you want to use it, you'll have to pay for it (It's price is quite steep).

Re: [resolved]Any Good Fonts
Helvetica is not license to Windows, unless you got a bootleg windows with bundled fonts, otherwise, there is no reason you're having Helvetica, you may be able to see the Helvetica font, but you can't use it.

Re: [resolved]Any Good Fonts
Weird, perhaps now Vista has helvetica installed.
Previously when I was using Windows XP, there was no Helvetica at all. I can view but Microsoft did not pay the royalty fee thus windows users had to buy the helvetica family themselves.

Re: [resolved]Any Good Fonts
Johno over at ILoveTypography.com got me thinking about my favorite fonts. I have a list of go-to fonts, but it’s not terribly interesting. On that list, however are a couple of free fonts that I love, so I decided to come up with 10 interesting free fonts that I don’t see people use that much.
Lindau
Comes in a great variety of weights: light, regular, medium, bold, extra bold, and black. The version I’ve been using needs kerning (I took it on myself to kern the font for my own use, I like it so much), but it’s an otherwise excellent family.
Zalamander Caps
Zalamander is a full-featured font family, and the folks at Just Another Foundry are giving away the all-caps version. Beautifully balanced, bold, and striking.
IM Fell
A beautiful set of revival fonts, complete with ligatures, swash characters, and ornaments. As the author says, these fonts are “nearly free,” with a clause in the license that you have to attribute their use in your publications.
Blue Plate Special
A great, stylized slab serif. You can get a free version of this font over at MyFonts.com. The Pro version is $7.
Clementine Sketch
You may know DeviantArt.com as a haven for anime and off-beat photography, but there are also a slew of free fonts there, and some of them are really great. (The remainder of the fonts on my list are all from DA.) Take Clementine Sketch, for instance. A lovely hand-drawn font that connects its glyphs ingeniously.
Reaktor
A great, futuristic sans-serif that makes for beautiful headlines.
Citrus
Quirky, hand-crafted, and impactful.
Drinking About You
Tall, skinny, high-contrast, and slick.
Often
A lovely sans-serif that’s in beta right now. Eventually, this will be a commercial font, so grab the beta version and play around with it while you can.
Bola
Another nice, quirky display face. Great contrast; excellent geometry.
